WHAT IS HYPNOSIS
Hypnosis is the oldest and best science of India. Hypnosis itself has been called by the name of ‘Prana Vidya’ or ‘Trikalvidya’ since ancient times. Some people also call it Mohini and Vashikaran Vidya. In English it is called hypnotism. Hypnotism is a modified form of mesmerism. Hypnotism is derived from the Greek language hypnos which means sleep. The term ‘hypnosis’ is much broader and subtler than ‘hypnotism’
Hypnosis is a trance-like mental state in which people experience greater focus, concentration, and suggestion. While hypnosis is often described as a sleep-like state, it is better expressed as a state of focused attention, high clarity, and vivid imaginations. People in a hypnotic state often seem sleepy and zoned out, but in reality, they are in a state of hyper-awareness. While there are many myths and misconceptions, hypnosis is a very real process that can be used as a therapeutic tool. Hypnosis has been shown to have medical and therapeutic benefits, particularly in reducing pain and anxiety. It has also been suggested that hypnosis may reduce the symptoms of dementia.
TYPES OF HYPNOSIS
Traditional Hypnosis
Traditional hypnosis is probably the most popular form of hypnosis and the type that often comes to mind when thinking about hypnosis. This type relies on suggestions and commands that are given to you when you are in a hypnotic state, which can then affect your behavior, thoughts, or feelings about something. Traditional hypnosis is usually used for self-improvement and fun fact: this is the type of hypnosis often used in variety shows.
Cognitive-Behavioral Hypnosis
Cognitive-behavioral hypnotherapy (CBH) relies heavily on cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), using a variety of hypnotherapy techniques to bring about positive changes in your thoughts or behavior. Although its precise definition and nature are debated in the hypnotherapy community, it shares many similarities as other types of hypnosis. This form of hypnotherapy uses various psychological tools and factors such as imagery, conceptualization and suggestion to help you understand whatever issue you are facing.
Self Hypnosis
Patients who are stressed and/or lack self-esteem may be taught self-hypnosis techniques that can induce relaxation and/or strengthen their self-esteem. Specifically, once the patient is in a state of self-hypnosis, the therapist can send messages to the patient, leading to a relaxation and strengthening process.

It should definitely be understood that the hypnotist is not a magician, or a master of divine powers. Most of the human beings come under the influence of inspiration or suggestion. If a command, such as “You stand up” or “Leave the chair,” is given in a polite manner, many people follow it immediately. It has been experienced by all that if we see someone yawning, then even if we do not have the desire, we start yawning ourselves. When others laugh, they laugh or smile themselves and get sad seeing others cry.
